EIFFEL TOWER

The Eiffel Tower was originally intended to be a temporary structure. It was built for the 1889 Exposition Universelle (World's Fair) in Paris and was meant to stand for just 20 years.

It took just over two years, from 1887 to 1889, to complete the tower.
